Today AM absolutely refused a dentist to do workin her mouth.
Our previous pediatric dentist doesn't take our new insurance;
this one (not a prediatric dentist) will not work with fussy kids.
I hope the pediatric dentist our friends use will be able to get through to AM.
On a more cheerful note, I think I might have found an eye doctor who takes our insurance and who can help us with NS. Which means I won't have to pay $100+/visit to a doc who was actually able to catch how she strains her eyes. However, she's booked till October and I have to call every day in hope of a cancellation if I want NS seen b4 school starts.

We like to keep porch in our bedroom opened - for fresh air.
Well, we've got a visitor.
A little squirrel visited us twice and, B'H, left without using our clauset as a restroom or chewing on something.
Luckily, the visitor was noticed few times and I was able to chase her away.
Later on, the porches were painted by a foul-smelling paint and I have a feeing that our visitor will not be coming back.
I'll miss her.

Женщина: Здравствуйте, какую операционную систему вы используете на компьютерах вашей компании?
Я: Linux.
Женщина: А офисный пакет?
Я: OpenOffice.
Женщина: Наша компания готовит предложение по переходу на операционную...
Я перебиваю: Мы не заинтересованы в переходе на Windows.
Женщина: А с чего вы взяли, что мы хотим предложить вам именно Windows?
Я: Неужели MS-DOS?

Today S. was a bit late when I came to pick him up form camp. When he finally ran into the car, he was holding a plastic container with 9 little froggies in it. Or toads, as they're not water frogs. I emptied out a biggish plastic box and he made a terrarium in it - dug up some grass, made a water bowl out of a plastic cup. They seem to be happy there. I made him release 4 of them. He claims he will catch insect for them daily. I do hope they survive.
And now we have: Fish, Gerbils, Hamster, Cocateil and Frogs.
I literally live in a zoo!

У меня радость - наконец-то, после более чем недельных поисков, я нашла нормальные очки!
Дико надоело ходить в жмущих запасных. Так что сегодя я добрая. Чуть чуть.
Прочитала Eragon (Paolini). Захватывает. Самой не верится, что я только сейчас добралась до этой книги (и это человек, перечитавший Толкиена несколько раз). Зарезервировала в библиотеле следующую.
Сделала перестановку. Точнее, сначала (в пятницу) муж наконец-то повесил новые лампы в гостинной. Окрыленная, я разгрузила один шкаф в комнате девочек, сдвинула его, поставила на его место шкаф поменьше и на место второго шкафа выставила шкаф из нашей спальни. Выбросила лапу с блокирующим весь свет абажуром, 2 уже ненужные лампы из гостинной поставила девочкам. Ну, и заодно, разобралась с нераборающей лампой в комнате сына.
Все очень довольны.
Завтра соседи должны забрать 1-й шкаф.

I am hungry and rather upset.
I misplaced my comfortable glasses the day we came back from LA (a week ago) and still can't find them.
My spare pair is a bit too tight and I hate waring them for so long.
So I'm angry & hungry right now. Keep away from me.

Finally I found a swimming instructor for my girls. It is non other then their former kindergarten teacher, beloved (and therefore - trusted) by our entire family!
In 1 30-min lesson both girls were floating on their stomachs, face in water!!!!
We're in a group with another girl - so it's 3 kids; and we're splitting the price.
Now I need to find somebody for S. He can swim, but I don't feel secure about his skills.

A friend reccomended a book by Lois Lowry "The Giver".
I'll admit, I cried. I always cry.
Similar to Orvells works, about people stuffed into boxes and people who suffer because they don't fit. I'd put it on a Recomended REQUIRED Reading List for all reachers.

Carry-on luggage and personal secutiry check are a pain the neck.
One has to take off shoes and put all the stuff onto the belt and get through the metal detector before their belongings get onto the other side.
First of all, I derive no pleasure at all from walking barefoot on the airport floors. Neither does NS.
Second of all, one has to make sure that nothing deemed dangerous is in the bags. No liquids, personal care items sized 4oz or less only, batteries in original sealed packaging only & so on.
Well, in JFK NS's back pack was opened and scissors extracted. After visual examination giraffe-ptterned blunt-edge scissors were put back. AM"s & S's bags had similar scissors but were not opened. When on the plane, I found two soda cans in my bad - I completely forgot we had them.
In LAX things were more serious. Two bottles (acetaminophen & benadril) were spotted on in NS's bag & searched for. As I didn't realise they were not in the suitcase, I thought it was NS's small tube with lotion. The guard took things out one at a time untill she found the offencive items and determained that they can be taken on board. No, she didn't make me try the meds.
